The Orwell community suffered two recent overdose deaths in July. In response, the VOW Foundation has set up an Orwell Community Outreach Event to bring education and training to the area. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Orwell Fire Company at 2000 County Route 2 in Orwell. Light refreshments by the Auxiliary will be provided and bottle water by the VOW Foundation. Service providers will be on hand with tables of information. Narcan Training with kit provided will begin at 6:15 p.m. followed by a Panel of experts to answer questions from the Community.
Collaborating for this event include the District Attorney's Office, Farnham Family Services, ConnextCare, County of Oswego Council on Alcoholism and Addictions, Sandy Creek School District, the Oswego County Division of Mental Hygiene and the Oswego County Sheriff's Department.
Unused medication will be collected at the event. Everyone is welcome. Get answers to questions about opioids, heroin, prevention, treatments, options, services, synthetic drugs, law enforcement, help, education, and hope for recovery.
Pre-registration for the Narcan Training and/or questions for the panel can be made by calling Teresa Woolson (315) 402-6119 or email@example.com.
