Shane LaVigne may be new to his position in Oswego County, but he is a 25 year Law Enforcement veteran specializing in narcotics related investigations. He began is career in 1995 in the Oswego County Village of Central Square, working with other Villages through 1999, Transferring to the Onondaga County Sheriff's office. In 2009 he was cross designated Federally as a Task Force Agent with the DEA Task Force, investigating narcotics related crimes on a Federal and State level. In 2016, he retired and then became an Investigator for the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office assigned back at the DEA Task Force on a part time basis.
