The Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club joins the growing list of Sponsors for the 5th Annual Oswego County Substance Awareness Family Education Fair. The SAFE Fair is a free family event scheduled for Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego. "We are proud to sponsor the 5th annual S.A.F.E. Fair. As Rotary members, we learn that service above self is paramount. Service comes in many forms and providing resources to support awareness and life-saving education for our community is something that fits squarely within our purpose as an organization," said Kevin Hill, President of the Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club.
This event has moved to a larger location for VOW Foundation’s 5th Anniversary of hosting the Oswego County SAFE Fair. “This event has been a collaboration with businesses, agencies and people in Oswego County for five years, learning and educating about synthetic drugs, addiction, prevention, treatment, outreach, healthy alternatives and, most recently, ways to help save lives of those effected by the opiate epidemic.” Said Teresa Woolson, President of the VOW Foundation. The VOW Foundation is named after Teresa’s son, Victor Orlando Woolson, who died in 2012 from a fatal reaction to a synthetic drug XLR-11 found in K2/Spice. The Mission of the VOW Foundation is to educate and advocate about synthetic drugs, addiction, mental illness and poverty.
As this year’s SAFE Fair draws near, the VOW Foundation would like to recognize the many sponsors that support this important event in Oswego County. The Oswego Sunrise Rotary is a new, Gold Sponsor of the SAFE Fair this year. Additional new sponsors this year include Eastern Shore Associates, Barbara & Morris Sorbello, The Fulton Companies and Jones Hacker Murphy LLP. The Central Region Addiction Resource Center provided a grant for advertising through WRVO public radio. Sponsors returning from last year include Exelon Generation, InterFace Performance Materials, Farnham Family Services, Inc., EJ Construction Group, Pathfinder Bank, Eagle Beverage, Assemblyman William Barclay, Fulton Savings Bank and BioSpherix LTD. Donating in-kind services include Newschannel 9, Mystic Music Entertainment Services, iHeart Oswego and the Lake Ontario Event & Conference Center.
